About Paisley Coats

At PaisleyCoats.com we import hand-crafted drawings, narratives, and poems from the southern coast of the Isle of Paisley Coats.

Paisley Coats lies in a transcendental realm tangent to the color azure and is watched over by an ever-present sky god. Centuries ago the animal ancestors of the inhabitants of Paisley Coats climbed a high mountain and fitted the sky god with a golden mask. They wanted to know when the pesky bugger was watching over their shoulders. Some feel it was better not knowing.

PaisleyCoats.com is managed and operated by Torger Waldemar who does not live on Paisley Coats himself, but is in communion with several artists on the island. Torger is concurrently writing about 75 novels in several genres, a body of work which he hopes to finish before his death which he feels certain will occur sometime this century. Please contact him at Waldemar [at] paisleycoats [dot] com.

Our artisans hope you will enjoy their creations. As a provider of novelties, they focus on small and unusual works which can be set upon the knickknack shelf of the mind and discarded by one’s children when one is sufficiently dead so as not to grieve the loss.

  • Theda Thread, writes micro-fiction and flash fiction of 50 to 500 words. She is currently halfway through her first short story.
  • Hensley Corner, adores artist trading cards and occasionally draws single-panel illustrations. She loves abstract art but is confused as anyone what she’s on about. It’s terrific fun, though.
  • Melony Dott, has an inquisitive soul which resembles one of those orange spikey fruits one always sees at the market which one wonders about, but only briefly. Well, that is the sort of soul who composes haiku and the occasional longer poem.

Our goal is to publish a new work five days a week, Monday through Friday. Even if it is as small as an eight-word haiku, you can be sure it was crafted with the utmost care of the dedicated craftsperson.

Visiting Paisley Coats

To visit the Isle of Paisley Coats one should begin to think of the apples in an apple orchard. Some are left hanging, others have fallen. Then pinch the tip of the nose and imagine a tortoise is latched there. Tortoise should always be pronounced as though it rhymes with more noise, just as zebra rhymes with Deborah. Gently pull away the imagined tortoise with a free hand so that it carries away the carapace of skin which binds a person energetically to the effluvial state of being.

The transcendental realm should first be experienced through the nostrils and the tip of the tongue brought carefully into close proximity.

After that, enjoy the holiday. But tread lightly.
